I'm having a problem with the Dell WLAN program on my Axim X30H.
As far as I understand when your pda goes off after the idle time out is reached it's not actually switched off its in suspend mode
Now when Suspend while Connected is enabled in the WLAN program even if your connected to wireless the pda can still suspend after the idle time is reached.
I've disabled this and in theory the PDA should not be able to suspend because it's still connected to my WLAN,
The problem is even though my PDA is connected to the WLAN it goes and suspends anyway after the idle time is reached
Does anyone have any ideas as to why this is, i've done a soft reset after changing the option as it says and my pda's brand new so its not the hardware i don't think.
Have you tried going into the Power settings to make adjustments? Start - Settings - System (tab) - Power - Advanced (tab) and uncheck the appropriate boxes.
Hi, i've left these settings as they are, because i thought 'suspend while connected' when unchecked would overide these settings and not let the pda suspend, as it is still connected to the wireless network ? :rolling:
Am i mis-understanding what suspend while connected does, if so could anyone explain what its for ?
I hope someone will soon too, as its only a small thing but it could be quite useful, and i am just wondering whether its my axim or all X30's where it doesn't work,
I would think the general power setting, described earlier, would override the WLAN setting; as it is the one built into the Operating System and the WLAN setting is simply a setting on an add-on program. Try changing the power setting to see if that helps...

So The suspend while connect feature in the Dell WLAN program is redundant and actually has no practical use as its always superseded by the os suspend control ?
Im just trying to understand, sorry if it seems im asking tons of question
I'm not certain but I believe that the "suspend while connected" option only applies to the wlan client itself, not the OS. In other words, once the wlan client finds a network it stops scanning for others.
That sounds most likly, although if the option was turnned off what effect would that have, how can it still scan and be connected to a network at the same time :S ?
