McAfee Virus Updates

I've been trying for several months to update the Virus Definitions using wireless, but it always tells me: "Update successful. No new updates at this time." I removed the software and re-loaded it, been on the phone with Dell and McAfeee and they are no help. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Well, since it appears you've already spent good money on PDA AV Software, I suggest you simply cut your losses and quit wasting your time on it.

AV on a PDA is not necessary. If you suspect you have "something", all you gotta do is Hard Resset and it's gone.

...another really good reason for frequent, if not daily, backups. :approve:

Being a self-proclaimed "newbie"...why isn't AV software necessary?

Are there even viruses that exist for Windows Mobile? (not theoretical ones in a lab, but viruses that are actually "out there" affecting people)

Currently there are no viruses for Windows Mobile. Like MrK said, currently antivirus software for Windows Mobile is a useless waste of money. Though, there is a possibility for them in the future, but you can easily get rid of a virus on a pda with a hard reset.

While I haven't experienced a virus on my PDA, viruses (vilri?) can still exist inside storage memory (built-in, main, or storage card) and can infect/reinfect your computers.

Also McAfee AntiVirus is free for Comcast customers.
