SBC Yahoo DSL Email web access with Pocket IE

I have tried to check my web email account on SBC Yahoo DSL, but get an error message that my Pocket Internet Explorer is not the right version, or something like that. Is there a way to trick SBC Yahoo webmail inot communicating with our version of PIE?

The only add-on utility I have is Spb Pocket Plus.

Thanks,
Mike

I had a similar problem with Comcast's site and Earthlink's site. I now use the latest version of Netfront and with a couple of tweeks, I have no problem with either site now.

This is a copy of a post I used to make the adjustments to my unit. YMMV

Finally i bought the Full Version of 3.2 and since the file was bigger than demo version it didn't fit the main memory. Even in CF it's not that slow like 3.1. Also I found a trick online to fool the websites that require ie 6.0 or firefox 1.0. I was even able to pass Yahoo Mail's browser check which I couldn't pass before even with Tweaks2k2. Here is what you need to do:

1. In Netfront, select, tools, browser settings and then misc tab.

2. At user agent, select the dropdown menu and an empty slot marked '(---)'. Press edit. The title can be anything you like. After adding the below info, to go back to the mobile version, just select Netfront for thr 'user agent'.

3. In Title enter Firefox or anything you like.

4. In user agent field enter 'Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7.8) 6.0'.

5. In App name, enter 'Firefox'.

6. In App version, enter '1.0.4'.

7. In appcodename, enter 'Gecko'.

8. In lang/platform enter 'en/Windows NT'.

9. Websites will identify your device as running Firefox on Windows XP.

Good Luck! :approve:

I use PIE with SBC Yahoo DSL just fine.
If you read the error message there should be an option for SBC to switch to it's older mail reader.
Just click that link and it will reload a different version of the mail page that's PIE compatible.

Something should come onscreen asking you if you want to use the browser compatible with your device. Just hit that like someone said above.

You don't need any software or anything. It's a registry hack.
