False Alarm: Dell Offers Free Upgrade to 5.0 on X30 TODAY

Its not for the x30, its just a special offer on the axim section...Click the link, and it says for the x50/x50vs :(

Even though it appears that way, it is only for X50/X50v. Just click on the offer details.

as stated on the website... "Get a FREE Windows Mobile 5.0 Upgrade CD ($39.00 value) when you purchase a new Axim X50/X50v. Simply select the Windows upgrade option when you "customize and price" and purchase your PDA today. Your upgrade CD will ship in October when available."

I sent Dell an email asking if the X30 would be upgradable to WM5 and this is the lovely response they sent me:

Stan, I would like to inform you that will receive the upgrade CD during the month of October. You have been provided with a Coupon, which he needs to exchange during October for the upgrade CD
Yeah, I don't buy it either and will email back for clarification. I hate it when they outsource their support to other places and just give them a script to work with.

Ah well. My X30 has already faced the fact that she won't be used very much into the next year...she's a strong unit. I will find her a good home...
