Ok. Sorry for the confusion here.
The steps that I had outlined earlier were for changing the labels in outlook. I thought that is what you were looking for as well. In pocket informant you have to use categories. I haven't done this extensively myself. Here are the steps on how to change the coloring. You have to set the appointment in a category though. It will then use the color defined by the process below.
(click the pocket informant logo icon on the toolbar ) choose settings , choose the colored icon on the far right at the top (this is the color settings ) .
Tap the drop down arrow ---scroll down to categories , choose that option and a list of your categories will appear --tap the category you want to change the color for and you'll see a display box at the top of the screen --you can choose whatever color you'd like for the category there .
