Pocket Word file conversion
Hello. I am hope someone is able to help me with this issue.
I am a computer consultant and I have a document that I created in Pocket word. The document acts as a sign off for the work that I do. When I am on a client site and after I have completed my work I have the customer sign this document before I leave as proof of completed work. To save time and the hassle of carring mass amounts of paper work around with me, I open the document on my Pocket PC and go to "view" and choose the "writing" option. This now allows me to use the stylis to write in the document. I then ask my clients to sign the form directly on the pocket PC using the stylis, then I later beam the file over to my dektop and email it to the proper company points.
Now this has worked for me with no problem at all for the last 6 months, but I lost my original Pocket PC and now I cannot seem to be able to do it with my new replacement Pocket PC. I am using Word 2003 on my desktop but it cannot read files that have the signature captured in it. Also I was using the Word 2000 not 2003.
What I am also seeing is that if I create a Note on the Pocket PC and then beam that over to the desktop, it cannot be opened by any program , even if that is just text. Before I was totally able to do that.
Pocket Word documents can be opened on the desktop as long as they do not contain a signature. Which as you know is saved as a drawing within the document.
It does not appear that you can save a document with a drawing in any other format then the Pocket version, any attempt to save it in any other format removes those items.
I would really appreciate any help here.
Questions:
1. Does beaming make a diference rather then using the docking station?
2. Is there a program that will convert PWF or PWI files to Word 2003 documents?
Thank you
