beginner needs some basic help

so what i want you guys to explain to me are the following:

1. im still charging at this moment, i did as the instruction said, turn on the pda so that the backup battery can be charged as well.
should i leave the pda on all night if i plan to charge it all night (even though the backup battery and the main battery is full, according to Power)??

2. when i put the pda away in the pocket or bag, should i push the power button to make the pda go off (into suspended mode)?

3. push the power button turns the pda into suspended mode, is it true that the pda isn't completely shut down at this point?

thank you and u guys have been helpful wtih my earlier thread.

1. If I remember right it says to turn it on, then off for the rest of the charge. In any case it should be off.

2. Yes, unless you want to run the battery down.

3. You are correct.

1. If already charged, there should be no need to keep charging. The charger will sense a full charge and not go into charge mode. Unplug, move to No. 2.

2. Yes, power button powers down when not in use.

3. Yes, it is in sleep mode. All settings and clock will be there for you in the morning.

[Redacted/correction].

When I 1st got my X30/High I used it as soon as the button turned green. I let my X50v charge the full 8.

Never had a power issue with either. :)

Wow, Don't Panic is right, I did not see that this is new device -- do the initial 8 hour charge.

Actually, the backup battery IS rechargeable on the X3, X30 and X50 series. (Only the X5 has a throw-away watch battery.) It's important to make sure it charges properly during the initial charge.

it seems to me that there's a rule in the battery industry:

must charge for 24-hour in the first charge so that the battery will run efficiently in the future.

i always hear that from cellphone provider
