Question Suddenly - "Cannot Connect"

Ok, first real 'problem' with my Axim. Everything was working fine until yesterday. Only thing that is different is that I installed a 128MB SD card - which isn't big enough and is going back today.

Anyway - I AM connected to my router via wireless but I am getting the following message when I try to use IE:

Cannot Connect

Unable to connect: You have no modem entries created, and no network card present.

Have no idea what has changed.

I could do a hard reset since it is farily new but I really want to know WHY this happened.

DOH!!!! Here is a new message that just came up:

Pocket PC Networking: Unable to obtain a server-assigned IP address. Try again later or enter an IP address in Network settings.

Arrrggghhh!!

Thanks!

Paul

I think the following will still work for the X30 (it no longer does with the latest ROM on the X50):

Select Start, Settings, Connections (tab), Connections, "Set up my proxy server"
Check the top box ("This network connects to the Internet"), but leave everything else on this page blank. OK.
Advanced (tab), Select Networks, Chose "My Work Network" from both drop down lists. OK.
OK your way back to the Today page and soft reset.

Thanks Ike...I did try that procedure from the tutorial links on this site. Your tutorials I think? AWESOME!

But, no go.

It was working FINE just last week. It was working great from the first time I logged into the wireless side.

Nothing was changed except for some addition of some software. But nothing was geared for internet or network related stuff.

It works fine in the cradel.

I hard/reset it and started fresh. Can see my w/router with no problem. I type in the key and it logs right in but IE still isn't happy.

I am still getting Cannot Connect:; Unable to connect: You have no modem entries created, and no network card present.

I double checked the settings in your tutorial...everything matches.

I just don't get it.

Well, the thing that's helped with X50's and this problem is to update the firmware on the router if the manufacturer has an update for your model. (I really don't know why this would work but it often does )
