X5 with Dell Folding Keyboard & ppc2003
I have a Dell Folding Keyboard that worked with ppc2002, but not with ppc2003;
I tried the drivers from Dell:
R67221.exe
R61512.exe
and
R56539.exe
All behave in the same manner;
that is, the little box the check to enable the keyboard, shows the check mark but it goes away after a second.
Anyone have any good ideas to try?

I cannot remember if the x5 has bluetooth... (It does, right?)
If this is a dell executive bluetooth keyboard, it is really just re-branded keyboard made by thinkoutside.
I started a thread offering to help anyone with the keyboard... here: http://www.aximsite.com/boards/showt...t=Thinkoutside

No, it is not bluetooth or IR,
it connects to the bottom connector on the Axim, where it connects to the dock or a sync cable.

I know this doesn't help, but I have the same setup (x5, rom a05, dell keybd) and the R67221 driver worked for me. Make sure you uninstall all instances of any keyboard software and try installing the R67221 driver only.

I've installed / uninstalled that a few times. I've scoured the registry to remove it too.
I'll check the windows and program files direvtory and try again.
It does help knowing someone else has this running with the 67211 version; I'll focus on that and try to get it working.

OK, I tried a few more things, but no luck yet.
peter_n, can you enable the keyboard and let me know the details of the following registry entries (thread to the two keys, and the values of mine):
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
-> SOFTWARE
---> Apps
-----> Dell Foldable Keyboard(US) V2.07
-------> (Default) (value not set)
-------> Instl 0x1 (1)
-------> InstlDirCnt 0x0 (0)
Just let me know the value of you keys, and if you have any other entries that look interesting (there are 5 other entries under the Dell Foldable Keyboard, but they are all paths).
Thanks

Sorry for the delay uzziah0,
I'm afraid I have the same registry settings you have:
CabFile, CmdFile, InstallDir, InstlDir and IsvFile point to directories.
Instl = 1 (0X000001)
InstlDirCnt = 0 (00000000)
That's it.

Try this
I've noticed that the install doesn't always place the actual startup driver where it needs to be. Open up Windows\Startup and see if KeybdG7L0 is in that folder. If not, you need to copy it there. Reset. It should work fine.

No. That didn't do a thing.
I used to be able to use my keyboard, but after installing everything, it no longer works. The file you refer to, KeybdG7LO.exe, is in the Windows directory.
When I run the "Foldable Keyboard" program from Start->Programs, that opens but it does not allow the "Enable Keyboard" selection to stay selected. It is as if the keyboard is not connected.

Try checking for physical damage on the connectors. This happened to my X5, preventing me from synching, but not from using the keyboard.

Thanks, but I already did that.
I'm thinking something got deleted when I installed another app or something, or maybe overwritten.
I'm going to uninstall/install again, maybe tonight or over the weekend.
I had actually given up, but a renewed desire to use my keyboard got me going again.
