Zip-Linq Sync/Charge Cable Doesn't Work

Hey, I got my Axim X5 2 years ago, and it's been pretty good this whole time. Over this past Christmas, my dog ate a lot of the dell charger that came with it, so I got a zip-linq sync 'n charge adaptor to charge it. When I got the cable, it worked like a charm. Charged my pocket pc up from 0% to 100% and everything. I used it again when the battery was semi-low (50% or so) and it worked fine. Then I didn't use it for awhile, since I had a friend with the dell charger, and the dell charger did a faster job of charging it. Well, I don't have access to the dell charger, and the zip-linq charge cable does not work anymore. When I plug in the cable, the charging light in the power button flickers, but dies. This is true of any PC I try it on (4 PCs and a 2 laptops). I looked in the power settings for the USB from the PC, and it shows that the X5 is drawing 2mA from it (for the sync), which I know is not correct, since I can power the unit without the battery using the USB just fine. It's as if the USB only gives as much power as the unit requires to function, not enough to charge it.

I'm asking, is there a way to force the PC to give it its full charge? Or are these cables just terrible? I know that in general, a lot of people have problems with them, but it's strange that it worked just fine more than once with different battery percentages.

Thanks for any help!

Oddly, when it was completely drained of any battery power just now, the pocket pc started charging. Then, after about 5 minutes, it stopped. Weird.

Are you having problems charging when the device is powered ON? Try charging with it OFF to see if it makes a difference.

it won't charge either way. when it's off, no power goes to it, and when it's on, only enough power to power the device goes to it.

finally got access to a powered USB hub, but even that didn't work! I don't know what to do... I'm just going to buy a new AC power cable most likely.
