Aloha to all....

Well...i hope i can get your help over the next couple of days.....especially from those who know WHAT to get and from WHERE.....

well....as the title says....i'm gonna get a 256SD & 512CF....

but I'm kind of lost....

between BRANDS....and....RETAILERS...

so..some intellectual advice would be great....

wether to get from DELL, AMAZON, BEST BUY...or whatever cheaper....hell..even COMPUSA!!.lol......

just hopefully i can get a good price WITHOUT rebates!!


and brands....well...EVERYONE seems to go for LEXAR , VIKING or KINGSTON...ok...no problem...that rules out SANDISK....

my advice is, avoid sandisk sd's as you will notice in most of the post here. i think lexar is a good brand, also based from what my friends experience. i recently got a pqi sd, 128 and it hasnt failed yet. i got it for only $44 at fry's

As far as I know, Sandisk CF cards are not a problem. My suggestion is that you keep an eye on the hot deals/memory forum. Info on great deals pop up there pretty frequently.

You can get one cheaper, but not without the mail in rebate. There prices seem to fluctuate though as I got this card about a month ago for $92. It works great.

I had one Sandisk CF card that refused to behave. I contacted the company and got a replacement-no problems since . Others have reported problems with memory cards from other companies, so I wouldn't necessarily rule out SanDisk. Dell has been running some great memory deals - even without rebates, but you really have to watch the site because prices change frequently. Don't forget to check the hot deals forum, too .
