I am now hunting for a digital camera to go with my axim, and want to get some advice. Of course the camera needs a sd or cf slot, and it cant cost to much (no more than 250). What do you guys recommend, anyone using their camera with their axim?

Only off by about 150 dollars. :rolling:
I spent about 250-270 on my Toshiba PDR M-61 a couple of years ago. It takes pictures that make my friends with higher res cameras cringe. If you are using your Ax as your sole source of viewing though you'll need an adapter....Toshiba's use SmartMedia.
Do some searching and you can find something in your budget....consumerreview.com is a great place to start.

thanks. I have been looking all morning and have become familiar with a lot of cameras out there. To answer axi monkey's question, I will use the axim to view and send them with, and that limits me to sd and cf. In addition, i am looking for one pretty small, since it is likely i would carry the two together. Does anyone use the A70 from cannon?
I am looking for the same thing actually, and I think I will go for one of the Canon Digital Elph cameras. I've tried it out before and the picture quality is quite good.....and it is really small to boot.
AxiMonkey,
The link is that, if the two devices use the same kind of memory card, it will be very easy to just move the card to the Axim and load the pictures without having to go through the PC.
[EDIT: D'oh! my post came very late........that's what I get for making posts while I work.]
Cheers!

Look at the Canon A40, A60, and A70. The first 2 can be picked up for $250. The A70 can be had for around $275 during sales/promotions. All are great cameras, and have the best battery life of any cams on the market. With screen off, all tests I have seen have gotten about 700+ full-res shots out of the A40 on a set of good rechargeable NiMH AA's.

Ahhh....who was it that said that the most obvious solution is usually the right one? I was thinking in terms of connecting a cable or something.
Yeah....that's my only complaint with my digicam....it takes beautiful pictures but it is the only one of my devices that uses *notso*SmartMedia. It'd be great to pop an SD card right into the Ax. I guess that's what upgrades are for. :D

That other issue is at least on my end is that I take very high quality pictures. While Resco can scale them down, they don't look that great and it takes the Axim some time to "convert" them... :p
i am really looking hard right now at the dell sb cameras becuase i have a 15% off coupon, and they are already 15% off! I just cant justify one yet...
if you're still looking, i highly recommend the kodak cx4200. it's 2 megapixels, so don't plan on taking professional quality photos with it, but its ideal for casual photo-taking. the pictures are great, generally more than adequate for basic usage.
it's also a relatively small and light camera.
if you buy it from amazon.com, it's $135, plus a free SD card (which fits in the axim of course) or a $30 discount on a bigger card. USE THE DISCOUNT. for only $6 more you can double the memory capacity.
the price oscillates from 135 to 147, presumably because the cheap ones go fast, but check back frequently, you should be able to get the better price. also free shipping.
and get rechargeable batteries and a battery charger--they will save you a LOT of money. battery life in the camera is pretty good, too, btw, but i use 1800 mah NiMH rechargeables, so ordinary alkaline batteries might be a different story.
HP makes dig. cameras that use CF cards. I have the HP 315 with a 256Mb CF card. I can take 325 hi res images, then view them all on my Ax with Resco pic viewer.
