I bought a case, now where do I put the accessories?

My 400 Mhz Axim (first PDA ever for me) arrives Tuesday, and thanks to this site, a bunch of accessories arrive next week as well. Specifically: Dell snap-on keyboard, travel-sync cable, spare battery, Linksys 802.11b card, Sennheiser PX-200 collapsible headphones, SiPix portable printer, 300 sheets thermal paper, Writescreen screen protectors, two 256mb SD cards, and four CF cards (1GB, 512MB, 2x256MB). After reading the comments on this board, I'm also suffering from GPS-envy, and will probably add that after my wallet recovers.

I bought a Sena case for the Axim, but I have no idea how I'm going to carry around the rest of this stuff. I'm less worried about the printer, since I bought it for business trips and will have a suitcase to carry it, but I can see a lot of instances where I might want the spare battery, keyboard, network card, GPS, and headphones handy. Since I'm not the only one buying a lot of accessories (and probably a lot less that many of you, judging from some of the posts I've read), please give me some suggestions on toting around all these extras.

Check out the case review section. It seems like there is a case that will hold the extra keyboard and some, if not all, of the cards and the cable. It is not an Axim specific case, but it seemed to work pretty well. I have a BaseCamp case from GrinderGear that I use when away from home for more than a day. It holds my Axim, extra stylus, extra screen protector, extended battery and other stuff. It won't fit a keyboard, but it is a great case :).

**forgot to mention-I think Aximsite members receive a discount on their products...check out the discounts forum.

According to what kind of business you are in, you might consider just getting a brief case.

I second Cheryl's endorsement of the Basecamp. I've had mine for about a week now and I adore it. Grindergear makes one case that's even larger than the Basecamp (Expedition??). I highly recommend that you check them out. I have my doubts as to whether or not you're going to be able to go the "professional" route with that much stuff, if you want to carry it all with you at all times. You're going to need something that falls more in line with the "utility" category.

And she's right. We do get a discount at Grindergear.

I've got the GrinderGear Expedition, and I really like it. For everyday, I use my Sena case, and keep all my other supplies in the Expedition. But I use the Expedition if I'm going outdoors, or if I need the Axim AND all the supplies together.

Hey Casewiz, thanks for the link to Rhinopak 2000. It looks similar to the Expedition, but is much cheaper!

Put all of your accessories together and take some rough measurements of the space that they take up, then take your tape measure to a store that sells electronics and/or cameras. There are a wide variety of cheap bags made for cameras and Cd players. You can probably find one that all of your stuff will fit in, and will either have a belt loop and/or a shoulder strap.

Thanks for the ideas! I'd prefer something smaller than a backpack or briefcase. The bags like Grindergear and Rhinopak look pretty cool, but I worry that the "box" shape may be inconvenient to carry every day, and I don't like waist packs.

Bluecken's suggestion of the Roadwired case is closer to what I'm looking for - flat (like a notebook computer) to fit in a briefcase for those situations but small enough to carry around comfortably with a book or pad of paper. I looked at Roadwired's site, and came up with the following that looks reasonably professional and roomy enough for my stuff:
http://www.roadwired.com/store/Produ...2&Productid=28

However, it doesn't look like it has a lot of pockets for flash accessories. I'll have to check it out at a store. I'm also debating going a little larger like v8sho suggested and getting a shoulder-strap camera bag to hold the accessories and my camera.

Check out incase designs Ebook case. http://shop.store.yahoo.com/goincase/eblarhpccas.html
I’ve hade mine for a few years now(Aero 1550 in pre-Axim life). In mine I currently have Axim, cf to pcmcia adapter, wifi cf, Ethernet cf, 4 cf memory cards, usb card reader, business cards, 3 pens, 5X7 notepad, headphones, and today’s mail. And I actually emptied some stuff out of it in preparation for an upcoming trip.

I'm thinking of gluing a compactflash card holder onto the back of my aluminium proporta case. Might stick with some epoxy but it'll look butt-ugly. Don't wanna have to dump the card into my backpack without protection though...
