Anybody have an aluminum case for their X5?

I would like to find someone who has one and can take accurate measurements of it for me- width, height, thickness.

I've been carrying my X5 for a couple of years in a PielFrama padded leather case, but it adds enough bulk to make the Axim hard to carry in pockets, so I don't carry it as much as I would like, usually just when I'm going to work and have my briefcase, or travelling and have my camera case or laptop case. I got to handle an HP h4155 recently in an aluminum case and the difference in size is amazing. It would fit in the pocket of my tight jeans easily. Actually the X5 alone will fit in my pocket pretty easily but I wouldn't carry it that way without a case. I'm wondering how much larger it is with an aluminum case. The cases are still available at various places but I can't find measurements listed anywhere. I'm trying to decide if I would be more likely to carry the X5 if I had a different case for it, or should I try to get one of the smaller machines like the HP h4155 or the Axim X51v.

Curiously enough, If I look at the measurements for a case for the HP4100 vs. the X51v vs. the HP hx4700, the width and thickness are pretty close to each other, and also are pretty close to the measurements for the X5 without a case.

Actually, the specs for an X5 show it's more than half an inch taller and nearly half an in wider and a quarter of an inch thicker making in about 20% larger overall. I know that may not sound like a lot but it's really pretty significant.

I had both an aluminum case and a Sena case (very similar to the Piel Frama) with my X5 and the aluminum case actually added more bulk to the Axim than the leather.

Hello:
An x51v is nice but if you have a limited amount of money take a look at this Sena case http://www.senacases.com/catalog/DEL...p-1-c-262.html

I have the Piel Frama leather case, which is very similar to the Sena. The extra thickness of the leather cases make the X5 pretty big to carry. Compared to my daughter's iPAQ h4100 in an aluminum case the Axim in a leather case is almost like a laptop computer.

Here is a link where I bought my Aluminum case, for this price. I bought a second also to keep on hand as extra. I had a Sena case that I gave to my friend and a leather covertec case now too. The covertec case adds more thickness in my opinion than the Aluminum case. The sena case though, was very thin, very well built and nice. I use my aluminun case on my x5 always becaiuse it allows me to keep my wifi card in it. I can also carry this in my pants pocket very easily, without worry. A little tight in my jeans but my dockers, etc no problems.

Length 5 1/4" (from front bottom to front top of case w/ x5 in it)
thick 15/16"( a little over 7/8" thick)
width 3 1/2 " included the ltahc sticking out, based on front cover, side to side

worst case scenario is, buy the case and try it. If it does not work, sell it with your X5 when you get rid of it. Even if you do not use it in your poocket, it is good when the X5 is a bag, coat pocket, etc

I'm trying to talk myself into buying an X51v or iPAQ hx4700. The aluminum X51v case is apparently 3" wide, the hx4700 aluminum case is apparently 3.2" wide, and both are a tiny bit thinner than the X5 case.
