FM Transmitters!

Anyone interested in using an FM transmitter to listen to mp3's in thier car or home stereo? I have an opportunity to get a great price on these http://www.themindfactory.com/Produc...aX/audiax.html .

Let me know people if the interest is great enough we can get a great product at an even greater price.

FYI I am not a sales man I just found an opportunity to get a good deal on a product but it must be bought in quantity so I wanted to see if there is any interest. I believe I can get a 50% discount on the MSRP.

I'm not an expert. Just did a google search on audiax after I saw your post.

Seems like a direct wired connection would be the best.

good luck,

Rick

Belkin makes a good model.
They target iPod users but it can work with any headphone jack. Works off of 2 aaa batteries.

Perfect for the commute. I've had to switch between 88.5 and 88.7 on some roads in town but overall it's static free. Works great in our house too... been able to get about 25 feet w/o distortion. 30ft. if you leave the unit alone. Just for kicks I had my wife follow me in her car in our neighborhood and she could tune into my broadcast. Now if there was a way to boost the power or plug it directly into the lighter...

Two tips, remember to turn it off when you're done. It doesn't have an auto-shut down feature. Also, keep your audio on the Axim unit at half volume otherwise you'll muddy up the audio. Use the car stereo to control main audio volume

I purchased mine at circuit city.

TuneCast Mobile FM Transmitter.

Exclamation irOck Model 300w FM Transmitter

Well, the other day I was in CompUSA and sae the irOck Model 300W. It transmits on Frequency Modulation 88.1, 88.3, 88.5 or 88.7. This range is helpful inasmuch as some communities may have stations on one or more of these frequencies.

In my opinion, this is an excellent product. On occasion I've had to change the station because of signals from broadcast station using the frequency. The sound quality is excellent. I'm a lover of reggae music -- it does much justice to that and other genres.

Apparently I'm not alone in my opinion. Note this review in mobilemag.com. You can also visit the manufacturer at myirock.com.

One more thing: I was able to put this transmitter in the back seat of my Nissan Maxima and have my son play is Gameboy sounds through the system. It still worked flawlessly. It did not have to be near the radio to get a great signal.

CompuUSA sold it for $29.

I got mine from buy.com and someone had said that Amazon had them for $25-26 free shipping. At the moment they are out but i look every now and then and they come in stock. They ar undoubtedly the same as the AudiaX.

Keep in mind that the signal already being processed in an audio amp, outputted through a headphone jack, pocessed again for liine levels to be brodcast in RF back to another radio and processed tonally and then sent to you is going to have much degradation. It will sound much flatter and probably lose MUCH of the original dynamics. For what it does and the s-to-n ratio, this thing does well. Even most of the reviews say the signal to noise ratio was outstanding.

I would not spend over 35 for one and even for my thrifty self, 25 was hard. I am cheap, I know.

I got one of them once at walmart for $20!! I can't remember the brand but, I know they called it a sound feeder. I don't have it anymore because I used some parts out of it for a project I was doing... (I wish I wouldn't have done that because for a while I have been using one of those tape adapters with my axim, but now not very many cars and camp trailors have tape players now ;) just cd players and radio)

I had a SoundFeeder. They were terribly for tuning since mine was operated by a wheel. The unit had alot of noise in it as well.
