I just bought a car charger for my X5 today - an adjustable voltage type with a variety of plug attachments. I set it all up, set the voltage to 4.5v and plugged it into my X5. Light turned to orange and status on the power settings page showed that it was charging - however - the green bar seemed to stay stuck at 59% charge for like 5 minutes.
I was tempted to wind the voltage upto 6v to see if that made a difference (ie; made the bar move up rather than stay stagnant) but not knowing if that would fry my beloved X5 I held back until I checked in here. Can anybody tell me if it would be safe to set the voltage higher or whether 4.5v is enough?
Isn't the wall charger a 3.7V? If it is, then you better not go up to 6V you burn out your PDA. I did that once with a walkman while testing it in my car. If the wall charger is higher than the 3.7V then I guess you would be good to go.
Does anyone know the polarity of the X5? I need to get another wall charger for mine. I'd also like to get a car charger too.
Thanks.

Ive done that a few times before, luckily the things i broke werent as expensive as an axim. (It was an old cassette walkman, and some other piece of junk i was fooling around with)

No. As spunker88 pointed out correctly, it is 5.4V.
