Axim battery

Hi Folks
I am thinking of purchasing the high capacity battery. Wondering what the difference actually is between the standard and the high capacity. How much more time can I actually anticipate from the high capacity battery?
Has anyone had a problem with the high capacity battery?

The difference is that the high capasity will give you probably about double the time, but it is also bigger. It sticks out of the back of the Axim. Some problems have occured, mainly with cases. Most cases don't accomodate the high capasity. I have found that just getting a second regular battery is more than good enough for me.

I own both batteries.

I find the 3400 gives me about 3 times the normal battery. I used it on a cross country trip (about 8 hours with airport waiting) for listening to tunes, watching movies, and playing games. It had plently of juice left when I arrived at my hotel. Very impressive.

Be fore warned - it's thicker (won't fit in a rhino skin) and heavier. But if you need the power, it's awesome.

Good luck.

I have not used my regular battery since I got the extended. It is a bit thicker (if you want a hard case that works with it, check out the DSI holster) but not enough to be truly annoying. Playing games and reading e-books, I got a little over five hours with the regular battery. With the extended battery, I got a little over 15 hours.

Thanks to all those who responded, it sounds like the high capacity battery is the way to go.

Yeah - although it sticks out, also kinda fits into your hand well (or at least it does for me..probably depends on size of your own hand)

The larger capacity battery sounds tempting but I ordered a second regular battery instead because I really love my case and would hate to have to stop using it.

I've been debating this same issue for awhile, and finally decided to go with a second standard battery and the aluminum Rhinoskin case.

One of my friends got an Axim too and he dropped it less than a foot, cracking the LCD. He's too honest to order the accident protection after the fact so he sold me his battery. I like having the two seperate batteries because I can still use the Axim while the other is charging. If I think I'll need more juice, I just bring both batteries with me.
