CF Modem card?

I use wireless at home and at the office. But when traveling, staying in hotels etc., wouldn't it be nice to have a CF modem card to plug into. The question is: Do they really work? Is there complicated settings that must be made to enable the Axim to use the CF Modem. Can you use it to access your regular dial-up connection? Thanks for the input.

Yes they work, and setup isn't to hard. It was pretty easy for me to go through the dialup settings and set it up to use my regular ISP.

Any particular brand of CF Modem? I was just wanting to grab one at Best Buy or CompUSA. I guess compatability is an issue?

Compusa had the Targus on sale not too long ago. With rebates it came to $19.99. If it's not on sale now keep looking as there's always a deal to be had.

Just tried the Targus modem card. When I plug it in, nothing happens. Am I missing something?

You have to configure your dial up info for your ISP Start, settings, connections, connections. Should be straight forward but remember before you input your login name ie login: HeyBigBoy, some ISPs MSN and Earthlink I know require that you enter the domain before (not to be confused with the domain slot) Example: Login: MSN/HeyBigBoy exactly like that. Some don't also...Only way you'll know is to try both;)
