Belkin screen protectors -- text on sticker?
I just opened up my pack of Belkin screen protectors for my new Axim, and noticed that on the very bottom of the protector it says "belkin.com"! I don't know about anyone else, but I don't want any text overlaying my screen... I find that very obtrusive. I am actually debating on weather or not to even apply one to my Axim, almost considering this a $20 loss and just throwing them in my drawer. I can't believe belkin did that, seems very ignorant. :rolling:

I can't believe Belkin did that... That is absolutely unacceptable. Is the text on the actual screen protector or the material around the protector that you would throw away anyway?

The fellowes write-rights for some PDAs (my wifes Palm) have www.fellowes.com at the bottom, on the actual protector.

It's on the botton of the actual area you apply, it is far enough down where it might fall 1/2 off the viewable area and 1/2 on, which is almost worse than just being on the screen. I'd take a pic but I don't have a digicam with me atm. I am going to go ahead and apply one for now since I want *something* protecting my screen for the time being, I will post in a bit and let you know how bad it is.

it's amazing that companies will put an advertisement on these things. the whole point is having a clear (not ditracting) view of the screen while protecting it. can you send them back? the write shields I bought from ppctechs doesn't have this kind of stuff on them.

With the protector applied, the center of my taskbar says "belkin.com" :( This was my first time trying to apply a screen protector, so I have already gone through 4 sheets trying to get it right (each time I either got a nasty fingerprint on the corner where I peeled that just looked horrible, or when I would get it on it would be to streaky looking and I thought it looked really bad). 1/3 of my pack is gone and I still don't have one on right, which I can take the blame for, but I don't know if I even want one on there with that stupid advert. I ordered them off Dell, I'm sure I can't return them since I have already gone through so many, but I will definantly be writing a letter to Belkin and Dell letting them know that this is just a poor thing to have on those screen protetors.

I have the Belkin screen protectors too and though they are verry glossy and quite clear, the words at the bottom do irl me at times as well. That and the fact they dont cover the entire screen well... I have about 1mm of space around the entire screen. :(

Frankly, it doesn't bother me in the least. I'm just glad that it works as well as it does compared to the one that my employer gave me (another brand) when I first got my Axim.

Ya I used the dell screen protectors and until only recently I found out that you have to peel ANOTHER layer off them to make them look clear. ANYWAY I switched to belkin and I love um. They are so clear. Come on folks if you don't want a swoosh on your shoe don't buy a nike. It sits on the taskbar and honestly stays out of my way. Tip to those with fingerprints, bend the backing in half at the top and about 2 inches of the screen protector will come off. Then apply the protector to the top middle of the ax. you should be able to smooth it from there w/o any air bubbles. Mine looks perfect now. I'll admitt I had to waste one but only one. And how about that shamie folks, talk about high quality, I'm debating on using that one for my car!!LOL!

I agree, I prefer the Belkin ones, and while the text at the bottom of the sheet bothered me at first, I hardly notice it now. The image is much clearer, and I prefer the adhesive style to the straight "overlay" of the Dell branded ones.
I didn't know about the second layer on the Dell brand ones, and was disatissfied with the clarity of the viewable image, but I really do prefer the Belkin ones, even were they both the same opaqcity.

I'm really ok with it. The screen protector works great and lasts quite some time.

There was a strip in the middle and then another layer of peel to take off of the whole overlay. You need to Send some instructions dell, if you ask me. Take a look at similar threads at the bottom on of those is the thread where i found out there was another layer to take off. I have head after that they are decently clear.

Are they sticky ones or overlays? Usually fellowes makes a good product I am not impressed with any brands non-stick overlays
