Hey There, I have a 4Gig SD card and I formatted it when I got it, worked great, I could copy all my stuff from work to home...I wanted to put it in my X5 and after reading the post on size limits I took it out. One day I read a post to format the card to 1 gig partions...tried it and it worked for the first time...and that's it...it no work any more
When I put it in my laptop I try to format it and I can't, I looked for software and still I can't format it.
Does anyone know of a good SD Format program to format this with. One program said it had bad sectors on it but still it is dead.
Hey There, Thanks for the link...it still didn't work, it tells me to insert a SD card, It tells me do you want to format I say yes then a second later it says it failed.
I really think I killed this card

HP has a partitioning tool, but your X5 will most likely not access any more that 1GB of the card, even though it should all 4 GB. Once you go over that 1GB mark the Axim goes south fast. You'll have to put the card into a PC card reader and straighten it out, so you only have 1 GB (less when formatted, but I'm not sure the total number).
I did a bunch of things to try getting my 2 GB card working, but it didn't work. A couple of us tinkered with this for a while.
If you are looking at the card in your Axim, only, you can probably straighten things out using a PC.
strange, i've got a pqi 4gb sd card which reads as a full 4gb in my x5... the only problem i've ever had with it was recently when i suddenly wasn't able to write to it anymore. but a backup to my pc, format of sd card, & rewrite from backup cleared that all up. :)

First, have you ever had more than 1 GB on that card?
I had my 2Gb SD in my X5 for months, and thought I'd get a full use of the 2 GB, but when I finally went over the 1GB mark, that card would not read. I had to put it my card reader to remove a file, then it worked fine.
I slightly remember someone had an X5 that would read past the 1 GB mark. We just surmised the HW being used for the last round of X5s built used different HW.
