I have one....
I ordered/received one last week.
Pros:
-I'm a complete clutz, so I like the security. I'm the kind of person who is constantly dropping things, sitting on things, and spilling things. I like not having to worry about damage. And of course, you can use it in all kinds of places and in all kinds of weather conditions!
-Hand strap on back makes it really easy to hold, even when driving.
-Axim fits securely into the unit
-Can use Axim while inside the unit
-If you want to take the Axim out of the case, it is easy to unlatch the case and open it right up.
-Writing surface has a smooth/slick feel.
-All of the front buttons are accessible.
-You can customize the box for other devices.
Cons:
-IR port not accessible
-Screen area bubbles because of trapped air. If this happens you can "burp" the case (opening the top latch while pressing on the screen area). However, the corners and outside edges of my screen area do not smooth down well at all. If you want to do extensive writing, you'll probably want to take it out of the case. This is a major drawback. The product literature actually suggests the use of a hair dryer to mold the screen area to the PDA screen, but that seems really risky and time-consuming to me to have to perform each time I put the PDA back into the case.
-Outside stylus holder does not work with the size/shape of the Axim stylus (it falls out).
-Screen cover seems very flimsy; in fact I think it had a leak after two days (I will be contacting the company about this). It seems to imprint easily from stylus use. This is my main concern!
-You are advised to prevent dust from collecting in the screen/gasket area, but I'm not really sure how to 1) prevent dust from getting in there (I mean, aren't you supposed to be able to use this thing in varied environmental conditions?) or 2) how to remove any small specks of dust/dirt without stretching or puncturing the screen cover.
-If you want to use a screen protector when it is out of the case, then you are stuck taking it off or putting up with extra layers when you put it back in the case.
-Pretty bulky, but considering the size of the Axim itself it isn't THAT much of difference! The bulky outside edges do make writing somewhat awkward.
