Format new SD card

Since my Sandisk SD card died I want to make sure that I do everything right with the new SD card I have just ordered.
Is it better to put the new card in the Axim and let it format it or is it better to put it in the card reader and format it that way? I also use it in my digital camera and that can format it too.

Which is best?

Thanks

Many -- most? -- cards come formatted already. I have never had a Sandisk, but all my Lexars and my PNY came formatted. I just plug and play.

I have cards from Simpletech and Kingston: both were factory formatted. Insert your flash card and if the axim indicates their storage capacity, do not do any thing to them, except make a folder call my documents.

If you formatt remember FAT 32. You should not have too. I have a simpletech 256 sd card w/o any problems and I have NOT formatted mine.
