So...I went and got the Belkin F8t006-PC bluetooth card. On my Desktop I have a Jabra A320s Blutooth adapter. My Desktop found my PDA, but they won't sync together. Every time I try to set-up a Active Sync it says "Service Discovery Unsuccessful" I used the software that came with the unit, and it says it's compatible with wm2003. I'm stuck.
The only thing I can think of is on my PDA it lists Com 8 for outbound and Com 9 for inbound...on the PC it has them at 3 and 4. I can't change either one of them.
Sorry for taking so long to get to this...I'm a slacker sometimes! LOL
Ok...I gt the card to work..but all of my excel files are corupt. When I sync them the old way with the cable there fine. The bluetoorh connection uses a "obex connection" the word docs went through fine.
I tried to sync using the bluetooth. I opened my "bluetoth places" on my desktop. Then I clicked on the PDA's icon...and clicked file transfer..obex. It was the only one that allowed me to transfer my files.
All of my word files opened, but none of the excel files did. I had to remove the bluetooth and sync the PDA in cradle to get my excel files off.
I want to get something more modern...OQO2+ or other UMPC thats not as expensive so I don't have to sync. I need something with a 4 - 5 inch touch screen. I was going to build one myself using the new pico ITX board with the Intel Atom processor, but I'm at a snag with the case and power supply.
I'm not sure if it is the same on the X5 but when you paired the Ax and your PC it should have given you the services available and one of them would have been Activsync.
It seems you are paired successfully if you are able to use the Obex transfer.
If you open Activesync on the X5 and select "connect via Bluetooth" it should then be connected in the same way as via the cradle.
You can then Explore and transfer file within Activesync on your PC and it will make the relevant conversions to your files.
