I really can't afford the $30 + $6SH on the Writeshields right now (why the heck does it not come in 1 pk). I been trying to make my own from the Dell template floating around out of laser transparency, sheet protector, photo album clearsheet, etc. - nothing to my liking though.
I been hearing good reviews about the Brando protector here:
I am currently finishing up the comparison review of three screen protectors, PocketPCTech WriteSHIELD, Boxwave ClearTouch and Brando Workshop screen protector. It will be up by the end of this week. I should have all the information you want...
Just a little preview... It's a very very very close call... ;)
I have used Brando screen protector and like it very much. I have one on my other pda and liked it so well I got one for my Dell Axim too. When u order u get just one but that protector is reusable by washing it. So far no scratches on either protector ... ...
Likewise.
The Brando fits perfectly, and as I understand it, is very similar to the Boxwave and Writeshield ... maybe even the same thing with different packaging.

When I received Brando and Boxwave samples, I was quite shocked by their appearances. They look very similar. At first, I thought they were the same product packaged separately. But... I found a few differences between them... I will tell you guys everything about them on my review... :)
BRANDO's screen protectors are definately the best. I have had a Palm 505, 515, Audiovox Maestro and currently the Ax of course. I placed Brando's screen protector on each one of them and they are absolutely the most durable and protective piece you can ever spend 12 bucks on. In addition, his service is EXCELLENT!!!
FYI - executivepda.com is having trouble filling the Brando orders. I ordered mine on 3/3 and they said it won't ship until 3/10. They did say they are getting bigger shipments, though, because of all the demand.

They have also gone up on price to $9.95 but still a good deal, I just ordered one before the price goes up anymore...
The display becomes slightly darker with a clingy protector, and the anti-glare texture has an effect too, but it's like 1 - 2% brightness and clarity. You'll never notice unless you can hold two units side by side to compare.
Some users who have had replacement Axims said there was a noticable difference in screen brightness between two stock units.
A screen protector has less effect than the normal variation.

Has anyone outside of the US ordered from ExecutivePDA? I'm wondering if the Brando free-shipping deal applies or not. I couldn't get a clear answer from their Web site, but I just decided to order direct from Brando, where it was a guaranteed flat $12.
As for the brightness, I guess that means I'll just have to notch it up by one when I'm on battery power. That's worthwhile for the improved writing and protection.
Young Joo's reviews of three different protectors are very good. You can find them in the reviews section.
