I put an inquiry in to pdapanache.com to see if they would be coming out with a stylus for the axim. I have had 2 so far, 1 for the hp568 and 1 for the toshiba e740. They were both high quality metal (1 was chrome, the other black) that fit perfectly in the ppc stylus holes. I think they also have a lifetime replacement gaurantee on the tip.

"Hello,

Thank you for contacting us.

We are currently developing a replacement stylus for the Dell Axim X5.

We regret we do not currently have an estimated release date.
Please check our web site for news when this item becomes available.

Please let us know if we may be of any additional assistance at all.

Best regards,

I've recently asked PDA PAnache about the metal stylus. The response:

"Thank you for contacting us.

We regret our custom stylus project for the Dell Axim has been put on hold by the factory.
At this time no release date has been set.

Please let us know if we may be of any additional assistance at all."

Any other metal stylus (specifically for the Axim) out there?

Although aftermarket companies have been able to come up with nice innovative designs for the stylus of other PDA's, they're severely limited with the Ax due to the original design. There's only so much you can do to a toothpick! Hopefully, the designers at Dell will stop smoking the wacky weed and put a reasonable stylus in their future designs. The stylus is my #1 most disliked feature of the Ax. I never felt the need to use a combo pen with my old E-115, the stylus was good enough. With the Ax, I ran out and bought a penopia, I'll only use the toothpick in an emergency.
