i just ordered the card from compusa. it seems like a great deal, but i disovered one little issue. it says that its a type I compact flash card, and the dell expansion slots seem to say its a type II. does this matter? whats the difference btwn the two?

Difference Between Type I and Type II
If you would like to know the technical differences between Type I and Type II Compact Flash please look at the following link.

http://www.compactflash.org/faqs/faq.htm#What_is

Simply put, the easiest answer is that CF II is slightly thicker. A CF I card will fit in a CF II slot, but a CF II won't go in a CF I slot. The Axim sleeve takes CF II cards, so in theory CF I will also work.

Don't worry
I just bought the Ambicom 802.11 compact flash card from CompUsa $29.99 after rebates and instant savings...I bought it yesterday 2/16/03 I used it today, and it works just great, it is slim fits perfectly and is great on batteries. Easy to set up and configured itself on my network automatically all I did is install the driver, and pop the card in..

Great Product...Works great..I just got my 300mhz axim on 2/13/03....

Anyone know of any good deals on SD Memory Cards??

SD Wireless Card??
I don't know about good deals on SD memory cards, but how about a good deal on a SD Wireless Card (assuming there is such an animal)?? I was just thinking that since I have quite an investment in CF memory cards, I would be better using the SD slot for wireless......

There's a problem with that. The Axim isn't SDIO compatable. The processor may be but there is word that Dell didn't make a connection to the I/O path. (stated here)

There is by no means consensus about this issue in that Dell Forum thread. So there may still be hope about bring SDIO to Dell Axim even if it is limited to 2.5megBYTES/second (1 bit) rather than 4bit SDIO.
