4 GB Microdrive
I just received my 4 GB microdrive in the mail an hour ago. I formated it, then put it in my Axim X5 advanced running PPC 2003. Works great!! No problems at all. I purchased it for $210 on Ebay. Very nice item. 4 GB for just over $200!!! Awesome price for an awesome item! I had to look for awhile but I finally got the deal. I know Creative has the Nuvo out with the microdrive in it but when i tried to order it from Amazon it said it had not been released yet. Go figure. Anyway, just thought I would let everyone know it is completely compatible with windows mobile 2003. Love it!!

One thing I forgot to mention is that the microdrive does not have a lip on it like a regular CF card. When it is in Axim it is tricky to remove. I just slid the sylus on side of it and popped it out. Other than that it is great...

How does the battery usage look with it in operation?

I have been using it for just over an hour and a half and it doesn't seem to be much more then a CF card. I really have not noticed a difference in battery usage. I will keep everyone posted on this if things change.

Great news for us space addicts. when you say it doesn't use more power than a CF card, which type of card are you refering to? WiFi tends to really suck the power, where a CF memory card doesn't (as much)...come to think of it, you're probably refering to the CF memory, which is good to hear..keep us posted on performance etc. What are you using 4Gb for?

other have noticed the same thing as you in regards to no lip to pull the card out. some have use a tab created with overlaping tape. letting about half an inch hang out of the slot give just enough to grip with your fingers and pull out. plus, this way does not risk the tip of your stylus getting all nicked up.
