FINALLY a high quality axim case!
Dear Customer,
We are writing to you in order to let you know we have just released
the
new 961 and 964 Vaja cases for the Dell Axim device, either classic or
customized. You can check all the possible leather and colour
combinations
in our site, in the Dell Axim section.

Thank you very much for your interest in our cases

in case no one knows, vaja cases are considered one of the best pda cases in the market
www.vajacases.com
I'd like to also mention, yes they are sorta pricey but if you've ever felt one of these, (I had one for my old ipaq) then they're worth every cent, do a google search for reviews on these and you'll find nothing but praise

GREAT! Just when I make up my mind they have to release their case. I guess I will have to struggle with this all over again.

To help make up your mind, consider the Sena vs. Vaja on a feature by feature basis. The Sena has 3 credit card slots, the Vaja has one. The Sena has a hole exposing the mic, the Vaja doesn't. The Sena leaves plenty of room around the buttons, the Vaja butts up against them. Vaja offers more colors than Sena. There are other pros and cons between them- just figure out what you want in a case and get what suits you best (features or reputation).

Also consider the price difference, the Sena is much cheaper than the Vaja if you pre-order.

I just checked out both cases. I think the Vaja looks very sharp but the Sena I bought is half the money and I'll spend the difference on software. It's not like when you buy an Axim, that's the end of it. Now there's cases, and memory cards and software. Wasn't it George Carlin that said you can never have enough stuff?

I would also throw in the EB case for the Axim. I have the EB case and have been very please with it. It also has 2 SD card slots, 2 Credit card slots and a Money/CF card slot. All for about $30 if I remember correctly.

Another issue to consider about the Vaja case is that are currently only manufacturing the cases for the Axim in Black. I sent them an e-mail and this what they responded with:
Quote:
At present the classic case is only being manufactured in black floater leather. If you want any other combination, you can check the customized version, where you will find a wider range of colour and leather combinations to build the case.

thanks

Just something to keep in mind. The customized cases are much more expensive and then you've got to include shipping costs. You'll probably end up spending $100 or so on the Vaja case if you want any color other than black. I like the cases and think they are better constructed than the Sena case, but let's face it... the cost difference isn't worth buying the Vaja. I pre-orded a Sena case.... I guess I'll decide after I get the Sena case if I want to upgrade.

To VanHlebar and others.....

Regarding carrying credit cards in the EB Case, be mindful that the front flap closure is magnetic...could present a problem with the magnetic strip on the cards!

Absolutely! I would never recommend carrying a credit card in the any of the cases anyways. I actually use mine to hold my business cards so that I always have some with me, since I am never without my Axim.

My other issue with the Vaja cases, as others have pointed out, is the cost. I just can't justify spending over $100 on a case for a ppc that I only paid $300 for to begin with.

Plus I had one for my HP56x model. It was a very nice case, very good quality and design. I just didn't like it very much.

Just me though...

Good point, but I carry my credit cards in my wallet, which is with me all the time. No so with the PDA.

I do wish the Sena case had a magnetic clasp option though.

With regards to the magnetic closure.... I like that Sena does not have a magnetic closure. Just something about a magnet and a computer.... it's like oil and water... they don't mix!

I can see your concern, but remember the magnetic fields from those small case latching magnets aren't strong enough or placed in the right place to hurt anything in your PDA.

I tend to go for magnetic latches since velcro gathers lint and fibers over time, and snap latches will wear as well.

snap latches will wear out but that'll be like after years of use. they also have more classy feel to them. personally I think the magnetic one have a cheap look to them
