Defrag Storage Cards?

Hey guys,
i realized that norton systemworks picked up my sd card when i put it in my reader today... so i decided to defrag it. it seemed to take a while but that it did move stuff around. is defragmenting the card worth it? as in does it give any benefits in performance or is it just a waste of time. i'm a pretty heavy gps user and i have a 256 mb card, 512, and a 1gb card lol...

For anything smaller than 512MB, I don't think it'd be worth it. If you move alot of files on and off your 512MB and 1 GB card, then defragging them every now and then might help.

Flash memory performance really isn't effected by fragmentation. There's no moving parts like the arm on a disk drive that has to move to collect all the file parts.

You might get some extra space (not much) by a defrag. I sure wouldn't spend money on it though.
