Sena Case... clip or no clip
I'm not sure if I should order the case with the clip, because I'm concerned that it may make the unit too bulky.
;)
Can the clip be removed? Is it even worth getting the clip?

clip
Yes, per the Sena web site the clip can be removed by turning the unit 90 degrees. The small post which the clip mounts on remains on the case. See below site for a picture of this.

I think the clip itself can be removed, but the thumb-tack-like bracket is sewn into the case.
I opted for the "no belt clip" case. I'm sure that I would rarely, if ever, use it -- maybe for MP3 listening...but not enough to warrant the extra bulk. I'm not one for wearing my electronics and the Ax is almost on the bulky side as it is.

Also....
I have a friend with a Sena case I believe for a Sony. He says the tab is not a problem unless you put it in a shirt pocket with the tab towards you for a long time... can rub a little not a big deal face the tab out. In your pocket not a problem.

Thanks for the information, all!
I see that we are just about split down the middle re: clip vs. no clip. I think I may just go for the clip, just so that I don't kick myself for not having it later on. Besides, the little nubb that is attached the case shouldn't be too intrusive, right?

I'm going to go without the clip since I don't see myself ever clipping it onto my belts or whatever. Just too tacky for my taste. The real question is WHICH COLOR?
I really like the black/red combo although the black/blue looks nice also.

Buttuh
I am going for the black red combo as I think it looks really cool and I have also opted not to go for the clip.

Noooo! Go all black! Classic, sleek, mature, timeless.
Color-combos are too trendy.
I know, I know, it's all a matter of personal taste.

I ordered mine with the clip, in black. I hate having a cell phone or anything clipped to my belt...however I do listen to MP3's. Having a case which protects the Axim, gives access to the buttons (programmed with play, pause, next track ect.) and being able to clip it to your side while working in the yard & walking through an airport ect. I believe is a good reason to have the clip version. If you don't listen to MP3's while on the move, the clip is dubious. Also, looking at the "ultra Clip" info on the Sena site, it shows the ability to add a clip to the Sena case after the fact with some type of 3M adhesive.

You're right...I think you can add a clip after the fact, if you change your mind that is. I guess you could always go to any cell phone store and get a clip there or probably your nearest retail store.
I also opted for the black/red combo w/o the clip...although, I am beginning to wonder if I should have opted for the all black case...damn, I am no good at shopping...just like my wife has always said!

I don't have the link right now, but if you go to the clip company's site they show how to install a tab into your case. They also suggest buying the clip and taking it and your case to a shoe repair shop for installation instead- if you aren't good at leather work (which most of us aren't). So yes, it is possible to convert it to a clip case if you want to.
