Question Quest about Keyboard functions

I just received my foldable keyboard and love the feel and look of it. One thing I've tried to figure out though is how to access the menu's within the programs whiule using the keyboard? you know, the menu tools at the bottom of the screen... I've tried every function and key stroke sequence I can think of. Is there a way to access these menu's or am I just out of luck? :rolling:

Thanks in advance for anyone's help on this!:D

This I believe is up to the programmers of the individual applications to hotkey their various menus, unfortunately many don't bother to do this... TextMaker is one of the few that actaully has a fully customizable hotkey system for literally anytihng in the whole app... too bad it draws text on the screen at hald the speed I can type it, making it completley useless

There's a freeware program called Word Commands that maps functions such as "Bold" to CTRL+B, etc.. You can get it here:

http://www.lagorio.net

Something else that might interest you is ZeNoKeyboard, which is what it sounds like. You select it as your text entry method, and it doesn't pop the SIP up when you go into a text field. It's got a few bugs--for instance, if you've got it selected, then the Brightness screen doesn't display properly--but works well enough for my purposes. Get it here:

We have been able to work around the ill-designed Dell keyboard driver. Check out this:

That's great for Textmaker, but I guess the other apps are on their own. I don't use Textmaker, and probably won't ever have the need for it.

I use my stylus a lot when I'm on the keyboard, to select various menu options etc. I wonder if Pocket Informant has any keyboard specific features...

I have another keyboard question... you know the default hotkeys... Fn E opens Excel, Fn W opens Word, Fn R opens calendar... any way to change these defaults?

In the driver you can define Fn + 0-9 as special keys. I did that and printed a small label to stick on the inside of the keyboard cover, so that I don't have to remember which is which.

You might be able to find the default keys in the registry. That would be useful for pointing the Word key to WordCommands, instead.
