The CF Card cannot be removed

Hi,

This is my first post here and I hope I can get some info.

I have an Axim 5 that I purchased when they first came out. I have an SD card installed and several weeks ago, I installed a CF card. I recently tried to remove the CF card without success. I have pushed, pulled, and wiggled the card without success. I have used only light force because of being afraid to damage the handheld. Any guidance would be much appreciated.

Welcome to aximsite, pksailon!

The CF cards can be hard to get out. A strong thumbnail (or the edge of a screwdriver) can get them started. I wouldn't push or wiggle, just try to pry it straight up and out.

Some members put a little tab of tape on the top of their CF cards to give some purchase for pulling them out. I haven't done this, but I would if I had trouble getting my card out.

Hi pswets,

Just a touch more thumbnail force did the trick. Thanks for your help.

I would caution watching the orientation of the CF when inserting it...

On one occasion, I bent a pin down in there due not paying attention. It could have cost me. Thankfully the pin and mounting are well made so all I needed to do was straighten it.

Been fine ever since.
