Can the X5 handle powerful SD cards
I own an X5 and am looking at upgrading to an X50v soon. Would I have any problem buying a 512 MB or 1 GB SD card with a fast transfer rate and having it work in the X5?

I dont think any of the pocketpcs use the full speeds offered by those cards. I think digital cameras are the ones who usually benefit from them.
I also dont think there will be any issues with using a 1gig SD in your axim.

I have had no problems with my 1GB SD card.
Search these forums before you buy though , some makes of card seem to cause problems on the Axim.
Mine is branded "KeyMem" - I've never heard of them either

I have a new Transcend 512Mb SD "60x" and works perfectly in my X5. I think its transfer rate is 8,5MB/s.

there are no issues with high speed cards in pdas, the pda will just use as much speed as it needs :)

My X5 has a 1gig Lexar in it, no problems at all. Made in USA, no less! Just checked and I was surprised. From what I hear, though, the X5 SD interface is pretty slow, so don't expect to use the speed of a faster card, although there won't be any problems with it.
