The cf will work for sure the x5 can handle any current sized cf card up to 32 gigs i think but the sd is not known. 1gig sd will work for sure I dont think anyone has got a 2 gig sd yet to try it on.
currently making the experince, that an 2gb sd card is not (fully) working in an x5 advanced ppc2003. To be precise: the system informations show the correct 2gb size of the card, but it is not possible to read or write to the card, when there are files on it, that sum up to more than 1gb of size -> only 1gb can be used.
i just put a Sandisk Ultra II 2GB card in mine, working fine up to the 2gb. i bought it for my digital cam, but im not using my cam at the moment and until my 1gb lexar SD card gets here, i figured i can use this...
it's formatted as FAT32 if that helps. i dont think it'll read NTFS or Fat16 might give you probs..
@glenneroo.
GOOD News! Because i know of several people including me, who have probs with their SD Cards, i would like to make things shure. If you are right, we can try to blame the seller for that.
You can read/write on the card on the x5 if there are files on it, that sum up to more than 1GB (lets say 1,5GB and more)?
You are using PPC2003?
Did you apply the "CF Card Timing Update"?
if it is fat 16 it might not be able to address all the memory I forgot the limit on fat 16 fat 32 should work
Thank you. Fat16 can address a little bit more than 2GB. I tried several cluster sizes (up to 64kb) with fat16 and fat32. No effect, execpt that the axim cannot read write more than 1GB.

yes i can read the full 2gb of the card, though i have only tried it with MP3s so far :)
oops just put PPC2003 on, copying over 2gb of files right now... it worked with 2002... *crossing fingers*
