Thanks for the tip! I just ordered mine! I have a Symbol card now, but I've wanted to get one as the Symbol cards don't work well with wififofum, etc... Also the 128mb (although not a huge amount) will be a nice addon!

I had to order one as well.
Agreed that the 128mb is not large, but for net d-loads and web page saves, it will help in keeping all that stuff on one card.

As I just posted in the other thread linked to this deal, unless something has changed with this device in the past few months, it does not work with the Axim X5.
Edit: I just read a post on this thread by leeosenton

Ike
Thanks for the update.
I will report back. I have not yet purchased a card/device that I could not get to work with little to no trouble with any of my Axim's
It seems I have been lucky over the years avoiding compatibility issues/problems

I bought this card from woot and I received it today.
I got the wireless working without any problems on my X5. Well no problems so far anyway.
I'm running ppc2003.
I grabbed the PocketPC 2003 Driver from Sandisk's website.
I threw some mp3 onto the CF and it seems to be ok too.
But I have a couple 1GB CF cards, I see my issue with this is going to be switching back & forth.

Check the drivers....
If you made the mistake of installing the drivers and utilities from the CD, then you need to completely uninstall them and soft reset. Download the latest from the Sandisk website and install them. Soft reset. Find someone with a completely open router/access point and connect.
My best friend just got his Friday and we went through that round robin (I already have a Linksys card that I'm happy with). Once we got the correct drivers in cleanly he took advantage of a trip to San Antonio---he ran across open wireless just outside a hotel and his card worked fine.
The thing about WM2003 is that it does a lot of the work that the utilities that came with the CF cards use to do. What WM2003 does is sense a signal nearby and pops up a message asking if you want to connect. Answer Yes and browse away (if their access point doesn't have some sort of filter).

Oh My... :exc: S'ooookay... I got the SanDisk card... (ordered it MOMENTS before I read all the reccomendations NOT to get that one...:::Sigh::: Such is my life...I installed the CD...Moments before I read all the reccomendations NOT to... :::Sigh::: and now... my lil' Axim x5 does not want to give up the program when I attempt to do an uninstall.
I get the following belligerant message (repeatedly)
"Uninstall unsuccessful.(you moron) The program was not removed because these files are in use or are read-only. (HaHa Dummy! Mortal user, You'll NEVER make me work...NEVER I tell you!!)Tap Start > Settings > System Tab > Memory > Running Programs Tab > Stop All and try again. (But still, I won't work...mwa ha ha haaaa)
Then in the little boxy thing below it says
"\Windows\PRISMIOC.dll\Windows\Wlu.cpl" Then it actually stuck it's tongue out at me. ... I was never able to actually get the WIFI working, I'm frustrated, I spent too much on this for it to not work... and...pfft... Anybuddy have any brilliant ideas for a less than computer-brilliant chickie? I'm so exasperated and sick of this thing mocking me.
Begging someone reads this... I actually kinda NEEEEED this to work.
:::Sigh:::
Warm Regards,
VelvetVoiced aka Megs

To uninstall the program, use file explorer to browse to \windows\startup directory and delete the *.lnk file that looks like it may be the sandisk wireless utility. Now soft reset and uninstall the program as before through settings->system->uninstall programs. This should get you started.

Max-
That even SOUNDS Frightening... But I'm trying it now...
On one of these boards- which of course I can't find now... Someone mentioned a wifi card that worked better, and/or was easire to install or didn't need to be removed between shut-off's (?)
As I mentioned, I bought the SanDisk ConnectPlus w/the 128mb memory - though not NOT for the $19.99 that someone else was fortunate enough to find...I got it for $36.99
Enneybuddy remember what the other- better card was? Or have a lead on where to find it cheep?
Y'know... think is, a Dell support tech specifically told me THIS MODEL was the one I needed, that was all good to go, with everything in it to connect and get internet connection on the road. Told me the model # and everything. Whoooo am I pizzzed.
I've spent so many hours and $$ SO FAR and it's still not doing what I need. <---- for the dell tech
ok, off I go to try that...
Thank you!!

More info
Okay, when you use File Explorer and navigate to the Windows\StartUp folder, what files do you see in there?

hmm...
Oh My..
I feel so dumb...
I see different sub-folders...and I don't so much know where to find what you are telling me to look for... I have a file with ebooks, enews, mydocuments, programfiles, temp, windows, mdmlog2...but none seem to have anything that look like a *.Ink file.
I am feeling truly... stooopid... so sorry... hope you don't mind the hand-holding.
Thank you!
Megs

okay...just open up your "windows" folder. There will be quite a few files and folders in there but don't be intimidated. Look carefully for a folder named "startup". In there will be merely a few files and one of them will be a *.lnk (or a "link" file that is a shortcut to the wireless utility you need to uninstall). It is worth mentioning, and I apologize for not thinking of it earlier, that you likely will not be able to see that the file you are looking for ends with ".lnk" unless you have your axim set up to show file extensions. Rather it will have an icon and a name that should give itself away. When you find it, delete it and then soft reset. Then you should finally be able to delete the wireless application and install the one that you may (hopefully) have better luck with. Let us know how it goes
