Finally! Got my TO BT Keyboard working with X5 (Socket CF)

So after ordering an x50v tonight, I decided to get serious with my ThinkOutside Keyboard and mouse I had been using with my 2nd comp because the first attempt to connect with my X5 had failed. (Running WM 2003)

After some playing, I found the combination that makes the keyboard work with my Socket Bluetooth CF card. (Of course it works now, I just ordered a new handheld )

First of all, don't get the latest (H revision) drivers from Socket. Get the previous "G" revision ones.

Next, the typical WM 2003 Stowaway drivers bundled with Keyboard and Mouse will not work. When selecting your device, as opposed to a Dell handheld, you can scroll down and pick Socket as the manufacturer, and it will give you a driver that works with the Socket stack.

Unfortunately, this driver does not contain the mouse driver. And the standard one with driver will not work. But the keyboard does work great now :)

As for other CF cards, if they use the built-in Bluetooth stack (WM 2003), it may work with the mouse drivers, I don't know. WM 2002 will definately not work with the mouse, but it should work with the keyboard.

Just figgered I'd share my trials for those who may get the same question down the road.

Nice. I love my TO keyboard too. I used to have IR keyboard, which was very pain to align every time. With x50v, you don't have to worry about anything other than simply pushing one key to activate your TO keyboard. (yet again the new driver from TO will work instead of the one came with.)
