Does anyone know if any existing cables will work with the Axim as is, or if any are in development?

I want to get a phone on the 1x network, but if it won't connect with the Axim, I'm in trouble! :o

Any help would be appreciated :D

Thanks,

Nick (board spammer of the day, oy!)

Check out Socket. They have a list of phones that they sell connection kits for. Also, Think Bluetooth. If you are buying a phone look for a phone with Bluetooth for a wireless connection between Axim and phone. I have a Belkin Bluetooth CF card that works well.

Frank,

Thanks for the advice! I think I will go bluetooth, no cords and probably not THAT much more than the connection kits, but without the wires! :)

Hopefully there are some decent bluetooth enabled phones in Canada

Barticus,

Here you go - right to the Digital Phone Cards:

http://www.socketcom.com/product/dpc.asp

There are a lot of other cell phone connectivity kits that won't be as expensive as the Socket solution, though - and again, there's always Bluetooth.

Let me know if you have any other questions :)

Nick

Unfortunately, Bluetooth Phones do not seem to be offered by Verizon. I was hoping to get one, but no luck digging one up.

You can find Bluetooth cards actually cheaper than most cell phone data cables. It almost makes the cord a silly option, that is if you can find a Bluetooth phone.

To this point, there are no CDMA (Sprint PCS or Verizon) Bluetooth phones. There is rumor of a Sprint Bluetooth phone coming in the first half of this year (check it out here. But if you are a Verizon customer, I have seen nothing yet...
