I ordered on 1/7/03. At that time the time to shipping was "3-5 business days."

I received a confirmation email that said expected shipping on 1/30/03.

I call the automated order system and it says it will ship in 2-3 days (ie 15th-16th of January).

I speak with a customer service representative and he says that it will ship about February 5, 2003.



WHAT THE F!!!!!

Doh!.....I don't think so...

If you read the smaller print - it clearly states that the initial date is an estimated date only, to be confirmed/updated later

Mine arrived before the original estimated ship date

Those boys & girls at Dell are doing a remarkable job
They are heavily dependent upon receiving materials in a timely manner.

OK so the original 3-5 was an estimate. What kind of an idiot company misses an extimate by 1000 percent?

Oh an how does that explain that four diffent parts of the company have four different current estimates

1. web site says 1/30/03 for my order

2. Web board says 15 day delay on any orders made after the 3rd

3. the customer service rep told me no orders from January were going to ship before the first week of February

4. the automated telephone order checker says my order will ship in 2-3 days)

And yet none of these estimates is apparently based on anything that a customer service person or their supervisor can explain?

Dell customer service has no idea what is going on. Some people have said there is a parts shortage. One person said the northeast is getting theirs late. Another person said the web order update system is just screwed up and it will come in the 2-3 days.
