Question Screen protectors - a must?

Question, I used my palm and never used a screen protector. Many of Axim users suggest the screen protector a must have and more importantly over wi-fi or memory. What do you guys suggest?

If it will be in an environment where you feel it will get dusty a lot (this si really the main/only way to ge scratches, dust and so on getting on the stylus, and then making hairline scratches when sliding with this dust etc on there)

If you ge hte protectors, you will basically be spending extra money, and scratching those, followed by eventually, it it gets bad, replacing them altogether. You could howver just kee the screen and stylus clean, and you shuld be good for the most part, sa for me, I have one of the dell screen protectors, but I have gone both ways (I kind of like the texture of the scvreen protectors when it comes to writing etc.

But it isn't a necessity, it really is just your own preference, if oyu don't consider hairline fractures to be that big of a deal, then you don't need to bother with getting them oir using them on your Axim, it's as simple as that.

I've been using PDAs for years. I used a Palm, then an HP Jornado, now the Ax. I never used a screen protector, and never had a scratch. Or maybe the scratches were small and I didn't notice them. The Axim makes me a little nervous because it's the first device I've had that doesn't have a flip cover to protect the screen. But so far, so good. Of course, YMMV. I keep my PDA in a shirt pocket (never pants or backpack). And I'm a desk jockey at work.

I did drop my Palm once and cracked the screen. But that's another story.

I can't stand screen protectors, but I'm very careful of my screen. If you think you are going to "abuse" your axim, get them.
