Hello everyone.

Recieved my 400 Mhz Axim for Christmas from my dad! Wow! I had never in my life even had any kind of a PDA, let alone a pocket pc. Never asked for one, never even really new they existed. What a pleasant surprise!

Anyway, I was wondering if this fantasic machine can become a cell phone. I have heard something of GSM or GSPR or something like that, some kind of cellular phone networks.

Is it fact possible (and practical) to use the Axim as a cell phone? I don't currently have a cell phone, so I was wondering. Is the cost too much?

Thanks for any help

i haven't seen anything yet...

i guess your cell phone provider would have to release a CF card that had their phone protocols on it.

i guess its possible since it has a microphone and speaker plus phone dialer (I guess for modems)

Depending on where you live (GSM network neccasary). It is possible. But it would be more cost efficient to buy a stand-alone cell phone. Because cell phone companies charge more for data service than voice.

A nice member emailed this link to me :
I have not looked to deep into it. But it looks like Sprint PCS in the form of a CF CARD.
