Question Palm could do it - Can a PPC?

The recurring function on the calendar is very valuable to me. With my several Palms and the applications I had, setting recurring tasks, appointments, etc was very easy and flexible. For example, if I needed to have a task occur on the 12th workday, this was easily done. I have yet to accomplish this task on my Ax. It has the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th and last weekdays, but not 12th. As a result, I end up with tasks on Saturday and Sunday - kind of a pain. What am I missing?

Hmmm...I can't see any way to do that, both with the basic Task program or even with Agenda Fusion. Try looking at some of the other calendar apps like Pocket Informant...maybe one of them can do this.

Chris...

I have both AF and PI. Both work pretty much the same.

Whats wrong with the Recurrence option in Outlook? Does this not do what you want?

Recurring Tasks

1. Click the "Tasks" folder from the "Folder List".

2. Click "New" from the top toolbar.

3. Create the descriptions of the task as usual.

4. Click the "Recurrence..." button from the top toolbar of the "Task" window.

5. Choose a recurrence pattern from the options presented.

6. Click OK.

7. Click "Save and Close".

#5 is the problem...

There is no way ( as far as I can see ) for outlook to recognize the 12th weekday of the month as a valis setting.

He wants to input an arbitrary number and pattern, such as "every 12th workday", with say, Sunday and Thursday as his days off... something off the wall like that :)

As for me, I really wouldn't know, I barely use the PDA aspect of my PPC, I more use it for applications... one of the reasons I opted toward PPC in general...

PocketInformant is what you need. Allows you to make reaccurance at any set amount of time. Has a 15 day trial so you can check before you buy it. Definetly the most useful app for PPC.

I thought the newest version of Agenda Fusion supported this feature?

Is this not what you need? If not I don't think theres anything more specific unless you want to mark the whole year ahead of time.

When creating a task or appointment under occurs choose edit pattern type in 12 yourself, if another window comes up make sure daily is selected and then type in 12 for the days yourself, you don't have to choose whats on the drop down menu

Um... it's a drop down menu to select one, two, three, four, or last. Their is no option to select another ammount.

Mabye you have the magic outlook setting, but it doesn't appear to work either on my desktop or the axim.

Right just tap in the box to highlight the 1 and type in 12 yourself it will take it. You can check your calendar for it in 12 days/weeks whatever and it is there.

From what I can tell, you have found a bug in Outlook.

It looks like Microsoft built that drop down list to work just with specific days of the week (Sunday, Monday, etc.) With that in mind it makes perfect sense to only offer "first", "second", "third", "fourth", and "last" as options since there will can only be a maximum of five of a specific day of the week in a month. However, it appears that Microsoft decided to add to the functionality and offer "day", "weekday", and "weekend day" to the list, but didn't think to update the options for the first drop down list. With the last options I mentioned, that first list no longer makes sense!

I checked on Outlook 2000 on my PC and it suffers from the same problem.
