Big Smile Free Printing Software - HP, BJC, Epson

Hi Guys

I found a free printing software for Pocket PC 2002. It is from HP and it is free. It can print on HP, BJC and Epson using IR, Bluetooth or network. I have try it out. It is great.

This is the website:

This is a great way to use your IR to print. The only issue some may have is it is large program. Not that big of a deal for many, though.....:)

The hp mobile printer driver is fine - but how do you use to print word docs - when I try to open it states software has not got viewer for that type of file ! works great withe images etc.

Thanks

alexwong, could you tell me how you configured your printer settings? I installed the software, but I can't seem to connect!!! I tried entering what I thought was the correct IP, but the connection failed, even when I disabled my firewall. I am also not sure how to enter the path or the printer name.

Thanks,

Gigi

To print desktop PC format Word, Excel, PowerPoint and PDF documents, you have to use the Westtek ClearVue software (not free). I've been using it fine over Wi-Fi at home and school to print Word and PowerPoint docs for about 3 months.

Gigi, first you must run the software (mobile printing) and point you Axim as the Printer IR port. Then select Tools (menu)>configuration>Printers>>Add..>IR Printer>>Choose Printer>Detect an IR Printer>Next..> your printer will be detected.

To print, use the same software and select the file and Print Now. If your file is large, printing could be very very slow.

Your Axim MUST be aligned (line-of-sight technology) with the IR port of the printer.

I have try it on both Axim and iPaq (ARM), it works fine. I don't know about other pocket pcs.

For network printing, I have no try that. I will try that when I get back to me office on Monday. (Today is Saturday)

For Bluetooth, I do not have a Bluetooth printer.

Thanks alexwong for your reply. I do not have IR capabilities on my printer so I could not use your instructions; however, I managed to get it to work using the network path. All I did was type in \\name of my computer\name of my printer and it worked!!! I tried printing from one floor to another (I'm in a house) and it was just fine. I was sooooooo excited that it finally worked! :D
