Have you hard resetted your X5?

I've had my X5 for quite a long time, and I have yet to perform a hard reset. Many soft resets, but I have been satisfied with the performance of my X5. I install the software I like, uninstall software I'm done with, and haven't really noticed much of a degradation of performance. I'm probably jinxing myself, but I am a happy X5 Advanced fan.

I have done several hard resets. Most were planned, but a few were done to to fix things I had broken. It is pretty much a painless routine if you have a good backup that you can retsore from.

i have done many planned and unplanned hard resets. but then i do a lot of stuff with it like trying beta versions of software and demo's. hard reset is the best way to clean it out.

I have never hard reset my x5 since I had it about three years now but I only put essential software on it that I know is bug free.

While crossing my fingers, I will say that I have never had to do a hard reset during the two years that I have had my X5. :approve:

I am not counting the A0x upgrades from Dell (2 I think);
March will be my Axim's 3rd anniversary.

I do many soft resets, at least 5 a week.

I've only done one hard reset the whole time I had my x5. I only did it to test sprite backup. I really can't even recall how to do a hard reset anymore.

Twice

I did it twice, basically to test something. I have yet to run into a situation where my X5 has done it on its own.

At least 10 hard resets for me, about half planned, half unplanned. The planned ones all happened due to performance problems, usually after toying with some beta software or software that did not uninstall cleanly. Unplanned? Who knows why.

If you're happy with you're X5's performance just leave it. However, I will say that I was very surprised at the performance improvement after a hard reset on at least two occasions. I had not realized how much slower my X5 had gotten until after rebuilding it from the ground up. Maybe the performance degradation was gradual so I didn't notice...but the improvement after a hard reset a marked!

I think I've done 4 hard resets. Two were for OS upgrades and the other 2 were done on purpose to "clean up" the device.
