Hey fellas I went to compusa and got a micro innovations wireless PDA keyboard, its the same as the pocketop one and its cool.

The newest drivers support the axim nicley, the software dosent support all the extra programs you might have install however so be aware there could be strange things every once in awhile, but for the most part in MS Pocket Word its nice landscape modes work great.

Thw hardware is very nice, I thought my old Targus foldable was a nice design, this ones better, its got a scmall sleek look and its very impressive, it comes with a host of accessories too, some you probably wont even need unless you plan on using this on some palm piolets, actually since its universal I think is a great $100 investment.

There are 2 ways to use it, you can use it from a upright, detached position, or a connected landscape position. I have found the more convinient way to use it is in normal mode since you dont have to do a soft reset ot change the landscape, however this does take a bit of tests to get teh mirror ot hit the Axim right, a few tweak however and if your staying in one position its nice.

The landscape is not as convineient but it works really great, its a little faster and every key hit registers fast and nice, probably because the IR ports are right near each other.

I test both with my linksys CF card (that sticks out of the top of the Axim (which I havent test yet either)) in both modes. In regular mode it was a little hard to get it working right, in landscape however it was fine, perfect, and I think thats the way I'm going to use this device.

Do any of you have any questions or anything you would like me to try to see if this device is something you might eb intesested in?

Laterz fellas.

I have a pocketop also that I really love. How did you connect it to the keyboard in landscape mode? My stand has an adapter that doesn't seem to fit into the keyboard correctly. Maybe I'm missing something.

Mine came with 6 extra pieces, 4 have a stylus attached to it, 1 is a steel lookign stylus, the one to connect it too the keyboard is just a small piece that looks rectangular, with 2 little clips that hold the stand and it swings it so that it can be used as a stand connected and then it swings again when you close it to just lay flat against it, I got mien at compusa and its from micro innovations, is yours from compusa or pockettop? I wonder if the compusa one has more adapters in it.

I have the one available from Circuit City and it mine did not come with any additional attachments and does not have the blue sticker under the mirror. Mine works great, I am wondering what all comes with the one available directly from Pocketop to weigh if it is worth returning to CC and waiting for the one from Pocketop?

BTW the one I have works great and I love it, the only thing I wish is that you could lock the keyboard open also secure the pda so that you could use it in your lap or somewhere such as a car where a stable flat surface is not really available.

Hey Greg Sullivan,

Do you think it would be possible to get a 20 rebate since I just got your keyboard less than a wek ago? I have been doing a pretty good job of spreading the love about the pocketop! ;) I really do love the product, and a 20 dollar rebate would go a long way towards this poor college students sd card fund!!!

Thanks for the reply. I went back into the box that I had put away and found the piece you are talking about. That does the trick. Its also nice to have to connect the keybaord and the stand when folded so you can transport them as one piece.

This came at a perfect time since I'm looking for a keyboard. I saw one at Radio Shack (Micro Innovations) and I'll probably go for the pocket top if the delivery time isn't too long. I definitely think NMkid should get a refund because I'm sure his picture and review will create some orders - it did for me! Thanks for your input - greatly appreciated. This site has completely transformed the way in which I will use my Axim with all the info out there on what it can do and the software tips etc... :P

A couple of questions for Greg Sullivan of Pocketop:

1. The original price on your web-site is $99 with free shipping. Your offer to the Axim customers for one week only is $79 "shipping not included". What is the price for shipping?

2. Does your $79 offer turn out to be $99 with shipping or is it more or would it be less for the Axim customers?

Bonus: I have been considering such a purchase. If the Axim customers are in fact getting a discounted offer and if you are going to give NMkid a discount on what he already paid (since it was his "ad" that drew my attention in the first place and your good-faith offer for us Axim customers), then I would purchase one.

On another note, has anyone been able to obtain a Dell keyboar for the Axim? I have a hard time finding it on their website and then there is very limited information reguarding price. Maybe I'm not looking hard enough. Any input on how the Dell keyboard works and feels. Also pics would be great.
