Here is a copy of the letter I just sent back to DHELL on notifying me that my hAxim is going to be delayed until 02/04/03! I ordered it on 12/31/03!

"Though at this time I choose not to cancel. I do think your company is handling the Axim issue in an EXTREMELY POOR manner. I like others should not had to wait until the ship day to be notified! I believe your company should do something to recompense us "CUSTOMERS" like giving the rebate instantly instead of the check or an additional percent off. This reflects very badly on your advertising of "outstanding customer service".

I will in due course inform my local BBB of your actions if I do not recieve some sort of recompense for this horrible wait time. As for word of mouth, you have earned even more bad feelings within this household. I will also be alerting the head of purchasing for my large computer outsourcing company of this poor treatment. "

Let's just say these are not idle thoughts and I do work for one of the top 5 computer outsourcing companies.

I encourage all waiting for their hAxims to send a similar letter. Also, please put your information into Bizrate.com! Together we can make a difference in how this company treats us! :o

Did they give you any explnation?

I had to wait almost 1 full month for my Axim to ship. In my view I see Dell as possibly underestimating the demand for these PDA's and thus the supply chain is streched as far as it can before it breaks.

I received the same verbal msg on my answering machine today. The problem is that when I called Dell last night, the guy at customer care said it was shipping today. Then I get home and boom, your order will not ship until 2/4/03. I called back in and nobody can answer why?

It just seems Dell underestimated the demand for this wonderful product. If one feels so strongly that they are getting screwed over by Dell they should probably look elsewhere and get a comparable unit for substantially more cash. Instant gratification is becoming passe anyway...

Here is the letter I got from DhELL today.

"We have reviewed your order. Although we had anticipated being able to ship
your order sooner, we are experiencing an unexpected delay. We will not be
able to ship your order until, on or before 2/4/2003. We apologize for this
inconvenience and are doing everything we can to get your order out to you
as quickly as possible.

No action is required to proceed with the new date, however, if you do not
wish to wait, you may cancel your order and receive a prompt refund.
However, if your system order has shipped or if you have already received
your system and this order number pertains to a promotional item, you may
choose to have your system returned at our expense.

If you have any questions, please contact Dell at 800-624-9897 or email us
at us_dhs_notify@dell.com before 9:00 PM Central Standard Time. Please
include your order number or customer number with any correspondence. We
apologize for any inconvenience this delay may cause.

Dell Computer Corporation"

I will wait...but I ain't happy! But it is only cos I am getting it for $75 off. (50 rebate and 25 promo from Dell account)

your only saying that because you already have your axim, if you were one us you would be just as pissed! I think we should get a free shipping uprgade or something. I ordered mine on the 30th of december, and I got an email saying it wont ship till the second, and then I checked my order status and that said it would ship the 20th of jan. I hope it ships soon...
