Hi, I was wondering if there is anyway to connect your Axim to your computer for Firewire or USB 2.0. I have the Axim Cradle and tranfering mp3s is VERY SLOW.... It takes forever to transfer one cd. Does anybody have any ideas? Thanks!
You can connect your Axim to a USB 2.0 connection, but it won't get any faster. The Axim is a USB 1.0 device so its speed is limited no matter what you connect it to. The other problem is that technically the interface is a serial connection so the speed of the connector at the bottom of the Axim wouldn't still cause difficulty even if you could get a USB 2.0 or Firewire cable.
The work around is to buy a Card Reader and use that instead of the ActiveSync connection.
I use a card reader and it works really good! i'm still searching for a freeware program that manages mini .cab files, without one a cab file will be installed in the default dir.
I have a CF card for my Axim and a CF card reader(USB 2.0) . When I take the CF card out of my Axim and put it into the Reader it doesnt work. I once deleted everything of the CF Card and then put it into the reader, and it worked...I also tried different CF cards and that worked as well... How can I fix this? I just want to be able to quickly transfer mp3's to it.. Thanks!

I don't know what your problem is. Either it is a bad card or a bad card reader. I have a USB 2.0 CF card reader and have never had the problem you are describing. Can you test the card with a USB 1.0 reader?
