I neep proof to show my stepdad he's wrong!
My step dad thinks that Our computer is running slower than ever, ever since "I got my Dell. He thinks that it is all my fault. What shoud I tell him? I think it is coincidental that it is running slower.

How dumb of me not to mention this.
Try defragmenting the computer.
It makes things run faster and more efficently.

Try hitting ALT-CTRL-DEL Once... ONLY ONCE !
This brings up a 'Windows Task Manager'.
Click on the 'CPU' column to order the processes by CPU demand.
You should be able to glance and see what, if any, it taking too much CPU time. You should normally see the 'System Idle Process' runing about 92-99 percent. Running other normal applications should run at at 1-7 percent if idle unless they are games, applications processing in background etc...

Your stepdad resents you and will always perceive something wrong with whatever you are involved in. I suggest trying drugs to escape it.
Just kidding. :)
Ask him if he installed any new programs. Remember, he who smelt it dealt it.

Defragmenting is good, but also try a scandisk to check for errors on your hard drive. Sometimes they start to fail and the PC will then become MUCH slower.

Well....
Outlook is a PIG. Installing that and leaving it running will def slow down the computer a great deal.

Adware, spyware, etc can really make a system crawl. I would recommend checking out
http://www.lavasoftusa.com/ for the free version of Ad-aware.
A very good free online virus scanner can be found at
http://www.antivirus.com. The signature file can be long to downlod the first time, but it is most certainly worth it.
