Need Symbol LA - 4137 Drivers for PPC 2003

Hello everyone,
Yes, I am a "Grandma".. a young at heart one! Just bought my Dell Axim X5 off Ebay and want to go wireless so I can use it in conjunction with my wireless setup at home.
I then bought a Symbol Wireless Networker LA - 4137 card, but can't find the POCKET PC 2003 drivers. That is all I need UNLESS you can be kind enough to send any instuctions on how to install, setup, etc. Links will work just fine.
Just point the way & I take it from there.
Thanks Much
TexasGrandma

http://www.socketcom.com/support/sup...n.asp?Type=CF2 you can find drivers here, socket/symbol are both the same card, just one is Retail and the other is OEM.

Has anyone had luck on an X51?

I tried installing the driver (P500_DRIVER.WM5.ARMV4I) and wi-fi companion (WTME.WM5.ARMV4I) on an X51 and everything seemed to install, the Wireless Companion runs but the driver does not recognize the card.

Using the Symbol driver (ppc2003_drv.ARM) the card is recognized but does not light up or connect and wi-fi companion still see no connections of course.

Maybe another card would work better. Any suggestions?

Thanks

Chris

The Socket P500 is not the same as the Symbol card (it was a previous Socket model that they quit manufacturing several years ago that was the same as the Symbol. The drivers for the new Sockets will not work with the Symbol or old Socket adapters).

The new Socket cards (both CF and sd) will work on the X51 but these are the most expensive. Users have reported that prism-based cards (the Symbol and Socket cards are not prism-based) will work with the Intersil reference drivers. These drivers are most easily installed with the Perfect Prism utility that is linked from the WiFi FAQ. The FAQ also describes some other cards that will work on the X51 (my signature has links to the WiFi FAQ and Guide).
