US -->Axim--> Canada

Are there any Canadians who ordered their Axim from the US (ex. Comp Geeks)??

If you did how much did you pay in duties?


A VERY high price at Dell Canada has made me relenquish the 1 year warranty, and run to the cheaper hills of Comp. Geeks. However, will I get a really big surprise when I try to ship the Axim to Canada?



(I can deal with the cold, I can deal with the fact that I am miles upon miles away from the nearest ocean (Toronto)....But I cannot deal with the fact that they have taken away my right to find a good deal for my axim needs)

just don't ship it with UPS (BIG NO NO NO !!!!) or fedex....
both of them charge too much for brokerage fees.. especially UPS
you'll be fine with USPS... they'll charge you the normal tax + $5 brokerage... but sometimes they didn't even bother to charge anything.
that's why when I do my shopping online from the store down south... if they only ship using UPS or fedex... I won't even bother to browse through their site.. find somewhere else with USPS as their carrier....

Unfortunately, it seems like the Comp. Geeks only use UPS. And they seem like pretty much the only choice right now

heh. only if this thread was posted 2 weeks ago. I shipped an axim to my friend in toronto, with ups standard. shipping is ~11 dollars but accordingly he got charged about 100 cdn for tax + brookage. brookage is around 30 dollars...

well you can find a friend who lives across the border you can have it shipped there.... and then go across the border yourself to pick it up
