Ambicom Bluetooth CF will not work

I tried repeatedly to install a Ambicom Bluetooth CF on my Axim X5 and have had no luck. No matter what I do, it gives ""an error occurred trying to initialize the Blue Neighbors for Windows CE. Blue Neighbors will nopw exit." I went to the Ambicom web site and downloaded the latest driver - no luck. Each time I would reset the unit and I have not found any change. The OS is Windows Pocket PC Cersion 4.2.1081 (Build 13100). Any thoughts?

I have been using my Ambicom BT CF for a couple of years with pretty good success. I've seen that error message once...maybe twice...but a soft reset always cured it. I'm not sure I can help but I do have a couple of questions that might help me understand what you are seeing.

First question, when does that message appear? After you finish the install? when you reset? when you insert the CF card into the slot?

Second question, did you install the driver to its default location in main memory?

Third questions, is the Ambicom driver set up to load itself onto the Today screen?

Sorry for all the questions...

I've been using my AmbiCom BT2000-CF for almost a year now and have had great success with it. I haven't had to troubleshoot it so I may be of little assistance othe than to suggest contacting their customer support. It may sound cheesey, but I've gotten help from others that way. Symbol helped me with drivers and a device they "no longer support", so it may not hurt to ask. Aximsite, however, is always the place to ask first!

Hope that helps - Will contact customer service but thought that I would start here first. Thanks all

Based on your answers I'm stumped, you did everything by the book but its not working. I thought maybe you had tried to install to built in storage or storage card which can cause start up issues for the CF card.

Funny thing is that my version (BT2000-CF) is not even supported any more, I'd better make sure to back up my driver.

I bought the same card and it is working fine, i had so many problems with a Rikaline card I was banging my head on the wall as i expect you are. All i can say is mine works with no problems, it instaled ok & is running Tomtom V5.1 it only cost me £11.50 from http://propertypro.co.uk/catalog/pro...oducts_id=1816
maybe they can help.
Sorry I cant be more helpful but I am not so Tech mined as some on here, I am sure someone will help sort this for you.

Good luck

Sil

Well I have the same problem. I never made the damn card work.
I have WM2003SE.
I was thinking about selling the Axim X5 (I have been using a X50V for the last 3 years). So I was trying to see if the BT card would work...
I hard reseted.. installed the Ambicom drivers from the website... and !!Oh my god!! It was working!!The light on the card was blinking non stop!! GREAT......
next morning.... it is no?t working !! I hard reseted again and reinstalled drivers... Damn!!It doesn't work!!The light just blink once when inserted...
It is the same problem again!!!
This is really strange!! Why did it worked once? Is it something inside the card that was discharged after many yearsin the drawer? Then charged once... but then wouldn't start the card again?Do I have to wait another 2 years to see it working one more time?
There are no new drivers as this card was discontinued a long time ago...
Now I am trying to find alternative drivers.... maybe can make it work with Widcomm and some hacking... but I am not sure it is worth the hassle.
